On 3 Performance is proud to announce the release of the 2007 – 2013 Chevy / GMC 1500 & 2500 (2500 requires customization) 4.8, 5.3, 6.0l single turbo system. This turbo system is a bolt on design that has a very clean and simple install. One of their favorite quotes from a customer was when they stated, "This thing makes so much torque my truck would pull my camper straight up a tree". Once the turbo system is installed and setup, the drivability doesnt even change. The daily driven shop truck proves this. If anything it actually improves as the turbo is very responsive, and is quick to make boost. With only lightly accelerating, you will find yourself not pressing the gas pedal as hard with the better throttle response. This is also due to the new found power your truck will be making mid-range as well
On 3 Performance designed the kit to use the stock driverside manifold. From there they made a crossover which is included in the kit ( will clear 4×4 parts and transfer case ) to bring us to the passenger side which is where they located the turbo. Each of the kits come standard with the On 3 Performance 70mm turbocharger and they have options to go anywhere from the 70mm to their newest 84mm.
On 3 Performance has a completely custom turbo manifold unlike any others currently on the market which is completely divided from bank to bank. Its not the typical log manifold that most make and run the driver side bank into. Both banks have been completely separated up to the turbo flange, which makes for a very cool looking and functional header. With the truck engine bay being so open, there is a good amount of room to work with for the wastegate as well. This allows for great positioning right at the t4 flange to keep good control over the boost. Included with each turbo system is the On 3 Performance 44mm v-banded wastegate which is loaded with a 6-7psi spring (vented to atmosphere).
To expel all the exhaust from the turbo, they designed a 3" to 3.5" stepped downpipe from 304 stainless steel. This is all constructed from thick, 16 gauge wall tubing which has been proven to stand up to the abuse.
The complete cold side of the turbo system is designed using 3", all aluminum tubing to help dissipate heat, keep the IATs as cool as possible and reduce weight. All the tubing is bead rolled to keep the couplers tight when in boost and prevent popping couplers. They also included stainless t-bolt clamps which provide more clamping power than your traditional worm clamps some kits use. All of the custom On 3 Performance couplers are 5 ply and come standard with each kit. Lastly, the intercooler is the same proven unit they have used for over 5 years with the other turbo systems they make. Included is the 3" core unit which is good up to around 800hp, and you can always upgrade to our 4″ core if you do plan on pushing the truck to the limits.
Fueling Questions: Please read, we get endless messages on what needs upgraded to support the power. NO the stock FUEL PUMP OR INJECTORS are not going to support your newly turbocharged truck. Most trucks bone stock end up making 400rwhp or more at 6-7psi depending on the combo with a 70mm On 3 turbo that comes with the kit. That is about a 57% increase in power and GM did not engineer your truck to be making those numbers on the stock fuel system. The engine platform is strong and you can normally run it up to 600rwhp or more with the correct fuel upgrades and tuning. Our shop truck is a daily driven vehicle and makes 625/675 and the engine is bone stock from pan to intake manifold. If you plan to boost your truck, you need to do the fuel system properly so you don’t end up costing yourself more down the road by blowing up your vehicle. On any build we do, we run the dual pump assembly and the return fuel line upgrade. This is going to support 900-1000hp depending on fuel being used and several other variables. Its perfect from a basic 400rwhp combo to a purpose built race truck making serious power.
Tuning Questions: Tuning via HP Tuners w- ProLink, Boost Gauge and Wideband Air Fuel Gauge are highly suggested. We can help you make the connection with one of our preferred tuners (Tyler at Czipar Performance) whom can help you dial in your truck via remote tuning process. They normally charge $600 for this tuning process and can offer additional upgrades like TCM unlocking, etc. Furthermore, we can supply you with the HP Tuners Hardware, Software & Credits if you are going to bring it to your local tune for a tune as well. Check the options above.
Turbo Questions: Please read, we get endless messages on what turbos to run for what motor. On a bone stock 4.8 and 5.3 liter for 500 horsepower, the standard 70mm will work fine. If you want something around 600, the 76/65 journal bearing for a $99 upgrade, will work well. If you have a stick, or want to spool faster, a Ceramic Ball Bearing 76/65 would be the proper choice.
On a 5.7 or 6.0+ liter you will then want a 78/75 journal to start with. That could produce upwards of 700 wheel, for $199 (with the appropriate engine modifications). As towing package truck you want the 76/75 Ceramic Ball Bearing for $795 additional. The 7675 BMF is a great all around turbo for those looking for the ultimate power.
The 88mm is a 1000 horsepower capable turbo, but you will need modifications in order to make it work on any of these kits. It has a proprietary down pipe flange to make a down pipe with. The feed and drain plate kit is different as well. Call with any questions.
