On 3 Performance is proud to announce the the 2014+ Chevy / GMC 1500 (1500 Only) 5.3 & 6.2l single turbo system. This is the ultimate bolt on upgrade for your truck that most mechanically inclined individuals will be able to accomplish over a weekend.  This is a true bolt on system that has the potential to increase your trucks horsepower by ~250rwhp+.  The On 3 turbo system is a bolt on design that has a very clean and simple install.  This is a perfect system for those looking to make the extra power to pull a camper or trailer and need that extra push.  During testing they had the truck hooked up to a car trailer to get some real world testing data.  They couldn’t believe how well the truck pulled, night and day difference, all the torque you need.  Those into street driving and drag racing, this system has you covered as well. Thats what so great about the turbo systems, they are very versatile.  Once the turbo system is installed and setup, the drivability is not effected in a negative manner.  If anything it actually improves as the turbo is very responsive and the On3 70mm is quick to make boost. In light acceleration situations like merging on the highway for instance, you will find yourself not pressing the gas pedal as hard with the better throttle response. This is also due to the new found power your truck will be making mid-range as well

Hot side Design:
On 3 started with their already proven platform and utilized the factory manifold on the Riverside(Tubular Upgrades Available).  From there they made a crossover that brings the exhaust over to the custom fabricated, cast stainless steel turbo manifold.  This will clear your 4×4 (Z71) transfer case and driveshaft.  The 2014+ Truck systems will come with the newest Gen. 2 Cast Stainless header standard in every turbo system.  This is an extremely durable design, around 2x as thick of material used when compared to your traditional hand fabricated turbo headers.  This is going to provide you longevity and will withstand the continuous heat cycles the truck will be put through.  Each of the kits come standard with the On 3 Performance 70mm journal bearing turbocharger and options are available to go anywhere from the 70mm to the newest 84mm.  Also they stock many CNC billet wheel upgrades if you are looking for the highest quality and most aggressive profile wheels that they offer.  These will make for a quicker spooling turbo, lighter, extended tip, as well as a stronger overall product.

The turbo manifold is unlike any others currently on the market.  It is completely divided from bank to bank, it does not merge one bank into the back of another like most other truck designs.  This is quite important when it comes to tuning the trucks as you will accurately monitor each bank.  This makes for a very cool looking and functional design. They started 3-4 years back with the original 99-06 single turbo truck kits. With the truck engine bay being so open they had a good amount of room to work with for the wastegate priority. They position it right at the t4 flange to keep good control over the boost.  With the On 3 44mm V-banded wastegate on the prototype 5.3 test truck, they were able to hold it steady at 6psi.  Clearly it will hold at higher amounts of boost, but as you know the wastegate is flowing more air volume at lower boost pressure so that is the real test.

To expel all the exhaust from the turbo, they designed a 3.0″ to 3.5″ stepped downpipe from 304 stainless steel. This is all constructed from thick, 16 gauge wall tubing which has been proven itself to stand up to daily driving requirements.  Working your way back from there, they also include an adapter to tie into the factory exhaust connection if required.

Note: While testing, the factory catback was EXTREMELY restrictive and a high flow catback system is almost required or open downpipe.  Without getting deep into the drive pressure data vs. boost, its much easier to just upgrade if you plan to run much more than 5-6psi.

Cold Side Design:
The complete cold side of the turbo system is designed using 3.0″, 304 all aluminum tubing to help dissipate heat, keep the IAT’s as cool as possible and reduce weight. All the cold side tubing is bead rolled to keep the couplers tight when in boost.  This will prevent the connections from popping couplers. To go the extra distance, we included stainless t-bolt clamps which provide more clamping power than your traditional worm clamps.  All of the custom On 3 Performance silicone couplers are 5 ply and come standard in each turbo system.  Moving on to the intercooler, this is a completely custom design using the On 3 proven Air to Air intercooler core.  Since the factory grill limits the space available to work with, they designed 2 different intercoolers.  The standard 3.5″ core is include with each turbo system and will support around 600rwhp before requiring you to upgrade. The On3 Race Core is about 80% in volume larger and fills the entire grill but does require some trimming if you upgrade.  Do you have to make 600+ to upgrade?  NO!  On 3 runs the race core on their shop truck to keep IAT’s to a minimum and cooler air is going to equal more power.

Turbocharger & Feed/Drain Design:
This system like any of the other On 3 Performance truck systems will come standard with our On 3 Performance, 70mm journal bearing turbocharger.  They have a number of upgrade turbos you can go with and the most common upgrade is the On 3 76mm units (76mm Compressor Wheel Suggested for 5.3, 76/75 suggested for 6.0L+).  Thats what is currently running on the On 3 shop truck during testing. Its quick into boost and will provide more room to go up as well.  The factory On 3 Performance 70mm is good for 450-500rwhp application.  If you are targeting more power than that, you will want to consider our larger upgrade units listed in the optional items section.

We designed an optional oil drain system that will drain the turbo and pump it back through the oil fill cap.  What makes this special?  In all turbo applications, the turbocharger must gravity drain the oil back into your oil pan.  Many of you are working on “Like New” trucks and might not want to drill the oil pan.  The solution is the optional turbo oil drain system with electric oil pump. With the On 3 system it will gravity drain to the oil pump and then the pump will flow the oil back up to the oil fill cap.  We have a custom CNC billet oil fill cap machined that allows for a very clean and factory appearing install.  This option can be selected in the optional items list for $235.  This IS NOT required but some might want to go this route to avoid drilling the oil pan for your oil drain.

Fueling Questions:  Please read, we get endless messages on what needs upgraded to support the power.  YES!!! The stock fuel pump on typical pump 91 or 93 octane fuel is going to be enough to support 500-550rwhp without having to upgrade.  If you plan to run e85 or exceed those power numbers, you will end up needing fuel system upgrades.  On 3 has the charge pipe properly setup so it will allow the use of the factory mass air flow meter and have enough range for at least 12-15psi without maxing out.  This allows for a very simple and quick bolt on upgrade that can make 500+ HP by bolting on at your house!

Tuning Questions: Tuning via HP Tuners w- ProLink, Boost Gauge and Wideband Air Fuel Gauge are highly suggested. We can help you make the connection with one of our preferred tuners (Tyler at Czipar Performance) whom can help you dial in your truck via  remote tuning process. They normally charge $600 for this tuning process and can offer additional upgrades like TCM unlocking, etc. Furthermore, we can supply you with the HP Tuners Hardware, Software & Credits if you are going to bring it to your local tune for a tune as well. Check the options above.

Turbo Questions: Please read, we get endless messages on what turbos to run for what motor. On a bone stock 5.3 liter for 600 horsepower, the standard 76/65mm will work fine. If you have a stick, or want to spool faster, a Cermic Ball Bearing 76/65 would be the proper choice.

On a 5.7 or 6.0+ liter you will then want a 78/75 journal to start with. That could produce upwards of 700 wheel, for $199 (with the approprite engine modifications). As towing package truck you want the 76/75 Ceramic Ball Bearing for $795 additional. The 7675 BMF is a great all around turbo for those looking for the ultimate power.

The 88mm is a 1000 horsepower capable turbo, but you will need modifications in order to make it work on any of these kits. It has a proprietary down pipe flange to make a down pipe with. The feed and drain plate kit is different as well. Call with any questions.
