Borg Warner 7163 EFR Turbo, 300-550 HP. Brand new for 2014, The EFR 7163 is Borg Warner's newest addition to the EFR family. This is literally an off-the-shelf Indycar turbocharger, used by all 2014/2015 IRL teams.
The Borg Warner 7163 EFR Turbo is a versatile turbo with very large map width for outstanding power potential even at high boost - and does it in a small package. This is an excellent turbocharger for autocross, rally, drift, road racing and street driven applications. This turbo uses a 71mm OD compressor with a 57mm inducer to support a remarkable 60lb/min max flow rate. The low inertia 63mm Gamma-Ti turbine wheel is the optimal match for the FMW compressor wheel. EFR 7163 uses the smallest-sized EFR compressor housing, fitting in the tightest engine bays particularly twin turbo V6 or V8 applications. In twinscroll T4 configuration, the 7163 delivers mindblowing fast spool and response while working well on stock and modified engines. Ideal for use in single turbo applications for the 300-550hp range, or as twin turbo applications 600-1100+hp. Ceramic Ball Bearing only, watercooling mandatory.
